A long-running Indian kitchen on River Street, this family-run Ballina room cooks the familiar north-Indian repertoire, curries, tandoor, breads and rice, for dine-in, takeaway and delivery seven nights a week. Dinner service runs each evening from around 5pm until late, which makes it one of the more reliable options in town for a hot meal after dark, including Sundays when much else has wound down. It's licensed and also BYO wine, and the mood is casual and unshowy rather than styled for a chain. Portions are generous, the spicing can be tuned to taste, and vegetarian eaters are well looked after. There's nothing corporate about it: this is a neighbourhood restaurant that has quietly fed locals for years, and it remains a straightforward, good-value pick for an evening curry in central Ballina.
