Richard Watkins spent decades as head brewer at Canberra's Wig & Pen before opening BentSpoke with co-founder Tracy Margrain in Braddon in June 2014. The flagship IPA, Crankshaft, has topped GABS' Hottest 100 seven years running. The Cannery in Mitchell is the production site — spent grain goes to local farmers, some of whom supply produce back to the kitchen.
