Bertoldo's Pasticceria

A fixture on Banna Avenue since 1952, this fourth-generation family bakery and pasticceria is one of the clearest expressions of Griffith's deep Italian roots, in a town where more than half the population claims Italian ancestry. The counters run to the classics: crusty continental breads, biscotti, cannoli, nougat and house-made gelato, with coffee poured alongside. Started by the Bertoldo family and still run by their descendants, it has outlasted most of its contemporaries by keeping to recipes brought from Italy rather than chasing trends. Locals treat it as the default stop for a morning pastry or a box of sweets before a family gathering, and visitors moving through the Riverina are routinely pointed here first. It stays a working bakery rather than a cafe dressed up for tourists, and the Saturday-morning queues make the case on their own.
