Best ofAll Lookout

QLD

A viewing platform on the southern rim of the Tweed Volcano caldera, reached by a 600-metre sealed track through Antarctic beech forest in Springbrook National Park. On clear days you can see Mount Warning rising at the caldera's centre, the Gold Coast skyline to the north-east, and the Pacific beyond. The beech (Nothofagus moorei) is Gondwana relict vegetation, part of the UNESCO-listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, with some of the individual trees estimated at over two thousand years old through clonal coppicing. The lookout sits on Yugambeh Country.
