A 1936 government building — terrazzo floors, stained glass, polished local timber — repurposed in 1995 as Cairns' principal public gallery. Three floors of heritage proportions house rotating exhibitions focused on Far North Queensland's First Nations cultures, fibre and textile traditions, and the broader tropic zone. Entry is free.
