Kookaburra taxonomy names Coolum Beach's first distillery, which uses banksia, gumbi gumbi, lemon myrtle and desert oak wattle seed to make gins that have won actual medals — The Gatherer took gold at the 2025 Australian Gin Awards. The Banksia Blue-Winged shifts from blue to purple when tonic hits it. Bottles are Australian-made from at least 70% recycled glass. Cellar door on Lysaght Street, Fridays and Saturdays.
