A sandstone shopfront in Mitcham Village has traded continuously since 1855, first as a general store and later an arts-and-crafts shop, before its conversion into a dedicated wine and spirits retailer on 8 December 1991. Independent since 1997 and known locally as The Ed, it now runs from a proper cellar beneath the heritage-listed building, with an extended drive-through and cool room added as the business grew. The range leans toward serious Burgundy, Bordeaux and Barolo alongside boutique Australian wine, craft beer and small-batch spirits, curated through the owners' own tastings rather than a distributor's list. A Champagne Club runs tastings and events for members through the year. In an inner Adelaide suburb where nineteenth-century stone buildings still anchor the main street, it is one of the few local businesses trading continuously from its original address. Open seven days, with long hours most evenings — a fixture of Mitcham Village rather than a passing retailer.
