Emily Hamann spent close to two decades in fashion, with a Bachelor of Design from RMIT, before turning to ceramics in Sydney in 2020. She works in slab hand-building, drawing on her background in fabric draping, cutting and pattern making, which shows in the folded and draped forms of her candle holders, vases, platters and sculptural pieces. Each is made in small batches, and the range carries Latin names, Forma, Folium, Umbra, Una Curvae.
