Established 1989 by Leo Schadegg, the Swiss chef sponsored to Australia in the 1970s by The Barn in McLaren Vale — third in his Adelaide trilogy after The Schonenberg and Alphütte (1983). Now run by Timothy Pearson (who did his apprenticeship here in the early 2000s) and Mark Gaston (formerly of both Lenzerheide and Alphütte), who acquired it in 2017. The dining room sits inside Ardmeen, a 1890s residence and surgery once occupied by Dr Arthur Henry Gault, with a planted central atrium running through it. À la carte lunch and dinner Wed-Sun, Fri-Sun High Tea, and the five- and seven-course degustation menus introduced in 2025. Adelaide Dining Magazine 2025 Hall of Fame entrant; AGFG 13 Chef Hat 2025.
