Housed in rooms leased from the National Trust property Brough House on Church Street, this Maitland museum grew out of a public meeting in 2013 and took up its premises in 2017. It mounts exhibitions across natural and human history, science and the creative arts, drawing on the region's history and community groups. A recent showing traced the arrival of rail to Maitland, from the first locomotive on the Great Northern line onward. Weekday group visits can be booked to include a talk by a local historian and morning tea.
