Set within the heritage-listed Hawthorn Tram Depot, this museum traces Melbourne's tramway history since 1885, when the city became one of the world's great tramway cities. A fleet of historic trams sits within the original depot building, alongside exhibitions on the cable tramways of 1884 to 1940 and the wider social history shaped by trams. The volunteer-run museum opens on scheduled days and publishes The Bellcord.
