Peter Brock opened it in 1988, when it was still the Bathurst Motor Racing Museum and the collection was a temporary display. It now sits at Murray's Corner at the end of Conrod Straight, with seventeen cars and five bikes of its own and more than a hundred others on loan. Trophies, leathers and footage from the 1920s on, and replica race cars the museum still takes people round the mountain in.
