Run by the Mornington & District Historical Society, formed in 1964 with Leslie Moorhead as its first president, this museum occupies the old post office on the corner of Main Street and Esplanade, opposite Mornington Park. Its collection covers the history of Mornington, Mt Eliza, Mt Martha and Moorooduc, with photographs, maps, documents, clothing and other artefacts, alongside postal, telegraph and telephone items. Displays are rotated as exhibitions, with a winter recess while the next one is curated. Entry is a few dollars.
