Early morning and dusk paddling on Lake Elizabeth targets one of Victoria's few remaining wild platypus colonies. The lake lies at the end of a 1km walk through mountain ash and tree ferns, old-growth forest that suggests why platypus persist here—cool water, dense vegetation, minimal disturbance. Tours run year-round except mid-July to mid-September, when breeding activity pauses operations entirely. Groups of up to seven depart from Forrest Brewing Company.
