Cory Parkhill opened this Errol Street shop in 2000, and a quarter-century on it's still run by the same family, a rarity on a strip increasingly given over to chains. The stock runs deep — more than 2,500 lines including back-vintage bottles from classic producers alongside smaller boutique makers, curated by a team that tastes through some 5,000 wines a year to keep the range current. Two of the staff are trained chefs, brought in specifically to talk food pairing rather than just point at price tags. It sits in the middle of North Melbourne's café strip, an easy stop for locals restocking before a dinner party or visitors picking up something to take to one. Open seven days, with delivery and shipping across the country for anyone who finds something they can't get at home.
