The English Scottish and Australian Bank opened here on 31 July 1928, designed by Summerhayes, who did a lot of the banks of that decade. The war closed it in 1941 and it became a doctor's surgery and residence, at one point leased by Hendy Cowan, a former deputy premier of the state. The corbels and facade decoration survived all of it. Apartment, cottage and suites from $165.
