Claimed by the owner
On the Bells Line of Road at Bilpin, Old Shed Distillery is run by the Hungerford brothers, whose family has farmed these mountains since the 1890s. Spirits are made in small batches in the original farm shed, using fruit and botanicals grown and handpicked on the property: home-grown oranges in the vodka, Bilpin apples in the apple-cello, strawberry gum and lemon thyme in the gin. The whisky rests four years in Buffalo Trace bourbon casks. The cellar door is open Thursday to Sunday and every day in NSW school holidays. Tastings are free, and there's a full bar, shared boards by the fire, and a welcome for dogs and kids. It's wheelchair accessible.
