Founded in 1870 by early impressionist painters, the Victorian Artists Society runs five galleries out of a single Albert Street address, turning over 50 exhibitions a year — new work every fortnight. Free entry, seven days. Life drawing, portrait sessions, and masterclasses keep the place in active use rather than mere display. One of the older continuously operating art institutions in the country.
