On the steep Hills Face below Mount Lofty, this reserve of around 120 hectares protects one of the largest remnants of native grassy woodland left on Adelaide's eastern edge. Walking trails climb through the bush to open views over the city and out towards the gulf, past old eucalypts and spring wildflowers. It adjoins the University of Adelaide's historic Waite campus at Urrbrae, which manages the land under a heritage agreement, and is open to walkers year-round.
