The gateway centre on the southern edge of D'Aguilar National Park at The Gap, twelve kilometres from central Brisbane, where 36,400 hectares of eucalypt forest and rainforest stretch away toward Lake Wivenhoe and Mount Mee. A wildlife centre keeps native animals — platypus and echidnas among them — alongside a ranger-staffed visitor centre and cafe. Walking and cycling trails loop around Enoggera Reservoir, and the reservoir itself is open for a swim or a paddle by kayak or canoe.
