The highest point on the Mornington Peninsula, Arthurs Seat rises abruptly from the bayside at Dromana to a lookout over the whole sweep of Port Phillip. On a clear day the view runs from the You Yangs and the distant city towers, across the water to the Bellarine, and, below, the patchwork of orchards and vineyards that climb the hill. A gondola rises from the foreshore for those who prefer not to drive, and the summit has gardens, a cafe and shaded walks. Sunset over the bay from here is a peninsula ritual.
