On a quiet stretch of Boundary Road, set back from Dromana's beachfront, this all-day room has been the Mornington Peninsula's original fully vegan cafe and store for years. The kitchen works to a blackboard that shifts with what's good, so a morning might turn up banana pancakes with maple and coconut ice cream, a plant-based egg-and-bacon muffin, or smashed avocado with cashew feta; lunch leans on tofu poke bowls and a butter chickpea curry. Coffee comes with a choice of plant milks, alongside chai, matcha and the house Wombat smoothie of banana, cacao and dates. Shelves of pantry goods and cold-case staples make it as much provedore as eatery, and the crowd is a mix of surfers, families and day-trippers who barely register that nothing here contains animal products.
