Farmhouse Providore& Cafe

A working cafe on Roberts Avenue that doubles as a shop window for the Wimmera's smaller producers. Alongside Naked Espresso coffee and a menu that runs to toasted roti and focaccia, the shelves carry locally made jams and chutneys, cold-pressed olive oil, honey, chocolate and sourdough, the sort of pantry goods that rarely travel far from where they are made. It trades weekday mornings through mid-afternoon and a shorter Saturday, drawing a mix of regulars and travellers off the Western Highway. The dual role, part providore and part breakfast-and-lunch room, gives it a usefulness beyond the plate: somewhere to sit with a coffee and leave with a jar of something from a farm up the road. Vegetarian and vegan options are on the board.
