On the edge of Gariwerd — the Grampians National Park — James McMurtrie and Christina Trace run a studio and gallery where visitors can watch molten glass shaped using techniques unchanged since the first century BC. Bowls, vessels, and sculptural outdoor works fill the gallery alongside ceramics from artist friends. Open most days; the furnace is always worth the detour.
