On the former site of the West Strahan Railway Station, on Tasmania's remote west coast, twelve self-catering apartments sit around a rose garden of some 160 plants grown from the restored railway turntable pit. Garden apartments run from one-bedroom units to family-sized two-bedrooms, each with its own kitchen, balcony and adjacent parking. Owned and run by the McDermott family, whose local tourism roots go back decades, it makes a grounded base for the wilderness and Gordon River nearby.
