Belair NationalPark

ADELAIDE, SA

In the Adelaide Hills a short drive from the city, Belair is the oldest national park in South Australia and among the oldest in the country, gazetted in 1891. Its rolling bushland of stringybark and blue gum is laced with walking and cycling trails, dotted with ornamental lakes and picnic lawns from its long life as a public pleasure ground, and rich in kangaroos, echidnas and birds. The historic Old Government House sits within the grounds. Easy to reach by train or road, it is Adelaide's green escape into the hills - a park for a gentle day out among the gums.
