Vines went into this hillside above Marion Bay in 1974, which makes them some of the oldest in Tasmania, and the sea below does the work of keeping the ripening slow. Fred Peacock has grown the fruit here since 1990; the Pinot Noir off these blocks took Best Pinot Noir at the 2026 Sydney Royal. Wine Show The cellar door — local timber, stone, a wall of glass looking out to Maria Island — pours the full range: Riesling, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, a dry Shiraz rosé and the Pinots, with Tasmanian cheese alongside if you want it. Small room, bookings recommended, no pets (apart from assistance animals). Marion Bay Road, only 50 minutes from Hobart.
