The only way in is the Fatman — a cable-driven barge that hauls you across the Pieman River into what was once a mining settlement. Today the handful of cottages and the Arcadia II, a heritage-listed cruise vessel, are the main reasons people make the long drive into the Tarkine. The restaurant runs seasonally; the Ahrberg bar does not.
