Cat Leahy hand-blocks felt hat bodies over vintage wooden blocks and hand-stitches each one in her shop in Yackandandah, in Victoria's north-east High Country. The work is custom and unhurried — 'custom hats, custom hours,' as she puts it — so a visit is best arranged in advance rather than dropped in on. Every hat is shaped and finished by hand for the person it's made for.
