Harvey Cheese
Margaret River, WA
Walk in seven days a week between 9.30 and 5 to Harvey Cheese on the South Western Highway at Wokalup — Western Australia's premier dairy region, about 1.5 hours south of Perth. Robert and Penny St Duke founded the operation in 2002 in a building that had been derelict for 11 years; in 2023 they sold to the Lottering family (Pieter and son Kael, three generations of South African farming heritage), who continue the artisan production. The cheese range covers soft-ripened (Triple Cream Camembert, Wicked Washed Rind), semi-firm (halloumi, Romano), hard, blue, and flavoured fettas, made from single-origin milk supplied by the Hall family dairy down the road — Wokalup farmers since the 1890s. Free tastings, viewing access to the make room, St Duke's Distillery spirits also on tasting. A second retail shop at Swan Valley Central.
