Since 1962, this Tarrawanna club has kept lapidary — the cutting, faceting, and polishing of stone and mineral — alive in the Illawarra. Members fossick for raw specimens, then work them into cabochons, faceted gems, or silver jewellery through classes in casting, wire wrapping, and enamelling. Monthly meetings, open days, and a 50th anniversary booklet tell you everything about the culture here.
