On Point Nepean Road in Rye, an owner-run bottle shop has spent more than a decade building a list around the Mornington Peninsula's small vignerons rather than the big commercial labels. The shelves hold upwards of 300 bottles, weighted toward pet-nats, low-intervention wine and craft beer, and the shop doubles as a spot to drink in, with charcuterie boards to go alongside a glass. It has become a reference point for the region's natural wine scene, drawing custom from beyond Rye itself for a range that changes with what small producers have on hand. Closed Tuesdays, otherwise open most of the week with later hours Friday and Saturday. A good stop for anyone touring the peninsula's wineries who wants a second opinion, and a bottle, from someone who tastes everything before it goes on the shelf.
