Established in 1963 by Doctor Max Lake as the first new vineyard planted in the Hunter Valley last century, this Pokolbin estate has been owned since 2000 by the Fogarty family, with Hunter-born winemaker Rodney Kempe. The wines are single-site, estate-grown and made here, centred on Cabernet blends and Chardonnay released annually. A cellar door and winery sit on the grounds.
