Lemonthyme Wilderness Retreat

Hobart, TAS

Built from Ponderosa pine logs over thirteen months through a Tasmanian highland winter, by a bushman who wanted a wilderness lodge with a point of view. Eight kilometres down an unsealed road above Lake Cethana, thirty-five minutes from Cradle Mountain. Tree-top cabins on timber legs over the rainforest canopy — no TVs, deliberate. On-site walking trails to Champagne Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. Whispering Woods restaurant does Tasmanian produce for dinner. Believed to be the largest hand-crafted log cabin in the Southern Hemisphere, which sounds like a tall claim until you walk into the main lodge.

Hobart Makers & Markets
Salamanca's sandstone warehouses anchor a maker scene that runs from Battery Point to North Hobart. Glass, ceramics, textiles, and the Saturday market that ties it all together.
