Luke Abbot builds insects. Trained at Sydney's Design Centre Enmore and on exchange at Tokyo's Hiko Mizuno College, he makes contemporary jewellery whose details only surface through mechanical transformation, each piece a small kinetic creature that works as both a wearable and a miniature sculpture. He moves between traditional metalworking, CAD and 3D printing, in materials like titanium, sterling silver and neodymium magnets. He won Contemporary Wearables 17 and was a 2023 MAKE Award finalist.
