Meredith Dairy
Geelong, VIC
Sandy and Julie Cameron pivoted from wool to sheep dairy on the family property near Meredith in August 1991, when the reserve wool price collapsed. The cheesemaker Richard Thomas — later instrumental at Yarra Valley Dairy and Tarago River — suggested sheep milk would make the best cheese, and the Camerons began milking the same month. Goats were added in 1996. The marinated cubes of goat chèvre in olive oil, peppercorns, thyme and garlic are the best-known product. President's Medal at the 2019 delicious. Produce Awards. Family-owned on Glenspean, Cameron-held since 1924.
