In Budderoo National Park behind Kiama, the Minnamurra Rainforest is threaded by an elevated boardwalk that winds up a fern-choked gully beside the tumbling creek, ending at a lookout over the two-tiered falls. The subtropical rainforest is dense with cabbage-tree palms, strangler figs and birdsong, and the well-built loop makes it accessible to almost everyone. It is a pocket of cool green a short drive from the coast, and the visitor centre and shaded picnic ground make it an easy family outing. The longer loop climbs to the upper falls.
