Founded in 1861, the NGV holds more than 76,000 works across two Melbourne buildings — NGV International and The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia. Oil on panel from the 15th century sits alongside contemporary design and fashion. The permanent collection is free. A third building, The Fox: NGV Contemporary, is on its way.
