The first commercial winery in the Great Southern, Plantagenet planted its Wyjup Vineyard in 1971 — those vines, now over 50 years old, still anchor the estate's best bottles. Sixth-generation West Australians Tom and Jo Wisdom now run the operation from a converted apple packing shed in Mount Barker. The Riesling and Shiraz remain the ones to seek out.
