A polychrome brick mansion completed in 1868 for Frederick Sargood, who named it after his mother's maiden name, Rippon, and the English word for meadow. The house has grown to 33 rooms and sits within seven hectares of Victorian pleasure gardens, taking in a lake, fernery, rose gardens and an orchard of historic fruit varieties. Guided house and garden tours run alongside a tea room, nursery and gift shop.
