Newcastle's ramen mainstay, opened by Taiyo Namba on King Street in 2017 and known for years as the city's home of ramen and gyoza. In 2025 he stripped out the bright yellow tiles and rebuilt it as an izakaya, a darker timber-and-lantern room designed with architects in Japan, and widened the kitchen to match: six ramen and seven donburi alongside sashimi, okonomiyaki sticks, kakuni pork, bao and sake. Lunch and dinner, seven days.
