Billed as Australia's first entirely vegan pub, this corner hotel on Abercrombie Street relaunched with a kitchen and bar that are plant-based top to bottom. The bistro plays pub classics straight — schnitzels, burgers, parmas and roasts rendered without animal products — while the bar pours local craft beer, cruelty-free wine and cocktails, all vetted as vegan. Live music, comedy and trivia fill the week, giving it the rhythms of an ordinary Chippendale local rather than a special-occasion vegan destination. The room keeps the tiled, worn-in feel of the pub it replaced, which is the point: the novelty is not the fit-out but the absence of anything animal-derived on the premises.
