The Farm Hub

Steve and Alison Heagney founded Evergrow at Inverell in 2017 to develop Australian-made sustainable farming inventions and demonstrate them on a working farm. The flagship product is VERTI-POTS™, a patented vertical growing tower made in Australia from food-grade recycled polypropylene — 30 plants in half a square metre on a balcony. The Inverell farm runs the Heagney's Componics system: composting, worm farming, vertical growing and aquaponics integrated as a closed-loop food production model. Heritage cows, chickens, goats, vegetable gardens and greenhouse production support the demonstration. The Farm Hub Cafe opened Christmas Eve 2024 — paddock-to-plate meals, wood-fired sourdough, value-adding production space. Tours run for schools, community groups and hobby farmers.
