It is a sprawling, unpretentious operation, bars, function rooms, accommodation and a bottle shop, but independently run and firmly a hotel rather than a services club. The draw is the setting as much as the plate: sand and surf a few steps away, a relaxed crowd, and weekend sessions that spill into the garden.
