Cassie and Barry took on a vineyard planted in 1999, at the foot of Mount Strzelecki on the southern end of Flinders Island. Around 6,000 vines sit across three blocks behind windbreaks raised against the island's westerly gales. The fruit, Chardonnay through to Cabernet, is grown by hand on organic principles, then fermented and bottled in the onsite winery. The cellar door pours complimentary tastings and lays out grazing platters of Tasmanian cheese and charcuterie among the vines.
