The Western Port Oberon Association formed in 1998 to acquire the ex-HMAS Otama, an Oberon-class submarine now moored off Crib Point. Its volunteers run this land-based naval museum on the Esplanade, where dioramas retell the AE2's run at the Dardanelles and HMAS Australia at Leyte Gulf, alongside working scale models of Australian warships and Royal and Merchant Navy memorabilia. Open weekends, self-guided.
