Willunga Slate Museum
Adelaide, Willunga, South Australia

35.2720° S · 138.5580° E
Housed in the police stables of the old Willunga Courthouse and Police Station complex on High Street, this interpretive museum traces how slate forms, its discovery in the hills behind the town and the growth of the extraction industry. Cornish miners came to work the quarries, and the museum records their dangerous labour alongside slate tools and objects made from the stone. Open first Saturdays and third Sundays, one to four, closed through winter.
