Mary Burgess works from Studio 15 in Melbourne's Nicholas Building, taking old clothes — a parent's jumper, a grandmother's coat — and hand-weaving them into new objects: bedspreads, bags, scarves, baby rugs. Each piece begins with conversation. The grief work happens quietly alongside the loom work. For anyone sitting on a box of clothes they can't throw away.
