Coordinates 42°52'30.5"S mark Deep South's position at the bottom of the world, which explains the brewery's self-mythology. Downstairs: concrete floors, pool table, sightlines into the brew space. Upstairs mezzanine runs warmer — festoon lights, long share tables. The tap list earns its confidence: Sharksjaw IPA (7.2%, Simcoe and Mosaic), copper-hued Pedra Pale, and a rotating "Uncharted" keg for whatever they're working through.
Wild Stitch Studio

A North Hobart sewing studio that runs on donated fabric and genuine community need. The 30-week Kids Fashion Design Program — covering pattern-making, garment construction and runway — is booked out for 2026. Adult "Sew Anything" drop-ins run alongside school holiday sessions and partnerships with the Cancer Council and Mates 4 Mates. On Elizabeth Street, Tuesday to Saturday.

Art Mob - Aboriginal Fine Art

Euan Hills has run Art Mob for over 23 years, sourcing work across more than a dozen distinct regions — bark paintings from Arnhem Land, dot paintings from Papunya, linocuts from Badu Island printmakers, shell necklaces from northeast Tasmania. Institutions including the National Gallery of Australia collect from here. The breadth is the point: 250 language groups, no single style.

Art historian and textile designer Caroline Davies Choi runs this Cygnet shop from 17 Mary Street, stocking local artisan wares alongside art supplies, wearables, and homewares. It grew from a Hobart market she launched in 2016. The COLLECT scheme — interest-free loans through Arts Tasmania — means that original Tasmanian art on the walls is more accessible than you'd expect.

The stock runs mostly to used titles kept in good condition, categorised and arranged by section. Books arrive by purchase from the public, assessed from photos before any sale.
