Some of the vines at Best's Great Western date to 1868 — old enough that several varieties have never been identified and may exist nowhere else on earth. The cellar door, open fifty years this year, sits quietly among them. The shiraz, grown in cool continental conditions at the Grampians' foothills, runs to red cherry, plum and pepper.
